Golden Globe Awards announces presenters
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has confirmed that its first list of presenters for the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards will include Matt Damon, Robert Pattinson, Jennifer Lopez, Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund.
Hosted by popular British comedic actor Ricky Gervais, the program will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 16th, reports People.
Actor Matt Damon is slated to present the Cecil B. DeMille Award for Lifetime Achievement in Motion Pictures to Robert De Niro.
The King’s Speech starring Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush leads the pack with seven nominations, while The Fighter and The Social Network follow closely with six nominations each.
A Golden Globe Award is an accolade presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association that recognizes excellence in film and television, both domestic and foreign. The annual formal ceremony is a major part of the film industry’s awards season, which culminates each year with the Academy Awards. The Globes are often a hint of who might be taking home an Oscar later.
