Golden Globes Announces Presenters

The organisers of this year’s Golden Globes ceremony have announced the stars who will be presenting awards.

Tom Hanks, Christina Aguilera, Neil Patrick Harris, Gerard Butler, Mel Gibson and Sophia Loren have been added to the list.  It was also previously announced that Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Nicole Kidman, Steven Spielberg, Sam Worthington, Halle Berry, Colin Farrell and Matthew Fox would be handing out the golden statues.

Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio will be presenting the Cecil B. DeMille Award to filmmaker Martin Scorsese, in honour of his lifetime achievement in film.

The film Up in the Air is dominating the nominations list for the 67th annual awards gala.  The flick has six opportunities to take home a prize in different categories, including one for Best Actor in a Drama for the film’s leading man, George Clooney.

The film Nine follows close behind with five nominations, including one in the Best Musical or Comedy Film category.

Unlike the Oscars, the Golden Globes also recognises the best of television.  Many people believe that the Golden Globes winners are a good indicator of who will be also taking home an Oscar trophy.
