The actress, who starred in Private Benjamin, The Banger Sisters, and The First Wives Club, among others, has asked Russell to star in her directorial debut. Hawn wrote the film, entitled Ashes to Ashes, and will also star in the project.
Ashes to Ashes tells the story of a New York widow who travels to India to spread her late husband’s ashes.
Russell commented on the film, "Goldie’s written a picture called Ashes To Ashes, which she has asked me to star in. She’s going to direct the movie and I’m going to play the lead role. He’s a mystery character."
