Grace Jones to launch dub version of Hurricane

2008 album marked singer’s return after 19-year absence.

In 2008, American-Jamaican model-actress-singer Grace Jones, then aged 60, made her musical comeback with the release of her tenth studio album Hurricane, her first in nearly 20 years, a follow-up to 1989’s Bulletproof Heart. A successful world tour soon followed.

Having starred opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the Destroyer in 1984, her most memorable role was May Day in the James Bond film A View to a Kill (1985), starring Roger Moore in the role of British spy 007.

Recently, Jones announced that she was issuing a new version of Hurricane, with dub versions produced by Ivor Guest for each of the nine tracks. The striking cover artwork was provided by her former partner, French graphic designer Jean-Paul Goude.

The album was renamed Hurricane Dub and will be issued with a deluxe edition that also contains the original songs. A tenth song, Hell Dub, is a bonus track for the album which hits store shelves on September 5.
