Rapper Jay-Z is one of the biggest names in hip hop today. He drops the first greatest hits compilation of his career in June. It will bring together many of the songs that shot him to the top of the hip hop charts.
To send a message that his career is far from over, Jay-Z named the new album The Hits Collection Vol.1. It’s a pretty safe bet he will release volume two at a later date.
The rapper grew up in a poor neighbourhood in Brooklyn. He was abandoned early in life by his father. He is now one of the richest musicians on the planet. He has been married to Beyoncé Knowles since 2008.
Jay-Z is currently working on new material for a follow-up to the popular The Blueprint 3. He hasn’t revealed the tracklist of songs that will be on the greatest hits album.
