Green Day wants more

No song off the group’s first two albums appear on its edition of Rock Band.

It just arrived in stores but Green Day already has ideas on how to make it better. Green Day; Rock Band edition went on sale yesterday (June 8). It contains 47 songs from the band’s large repertoire.

Green Day began in 1989 but the earliest songs on the game are from its third studio album, Dookie, which came out in 1994. That album helped propel the band to the monumental success the members have enjoyed ever since.

The band has released eight studio albums so far.

Drummer Tre Cool told MTV News: "That’s what’s cool about the Rock Band thing, is if we want to add more songs, we can do it online, in the future. If we want to do some surprises and stuff, we can always keep adding to it."

Lead singer and frontman Billie Joe Armstrong added, "Yeah, it would be great to see songs that are from, you know, [Green Day’s 1990 debut] 39/Smooth and [’92’s] Kerplunk, to come out on it. You know, that’s what’s exciting … to visit some of the older songs too."
