Gregg Allman to release first album in 14 years

Legendary Gregg Allman back on the scene with a new album in late January.

 

One of the most popular musicians in the United States in the 1970s, Gregg Allman, of The Allman Brothers Band, a Southern rock band inducted into the Hall of Fame Rock and Roll, has released his first album in more than 14 years.

The keyboardist who gave Cher her son Elijah Blue began his solo career with his first album, Laid Back, in 1973. He will launch Low Country Blues on January 25, a first album since Searching for Simplicity in 1997.

Allman, who is also an accomplished guitarist and singer, resumed his solo career along with his parallel duties in The Allman Brothers Band. the group took two breaks totalling nearly a decade since its inception in 1969.
