Guillaume Boivin still without news of his bikes

Quebec cyclist Guillaume Boivin is still waiting to get his bikes back while he is participating in the Tour de France.

Like many Canadian travelers, Guillaume Boivin is currently experiencing a nightmare with his luggage. The professional cyclist registered in the world’s most prestigious bicycle race is still waiting for his lost racing bikes to be found.

The 33-year-old Quebecer is competing in the Grand Loop with Team Israel-Premier Tech. When the Tour started in Denmark on July 1, his bikes and bags still hadn’t arrived.

The cyclist flew to Europe on an Air Canada flight in the days leading up to the event, which runs until July 24. Across the country, horror stories are popping up on social media of travelers who have had their flights cancelled or their luggage lost.

And as the Tour de France cyclists move from day to day to tour the Hexagon, it is likely that Guillaume Boivin will not see the color of his bikes before the arrival in Paris on the Champs-Élysée.

At the end of yesterday’s stage 3 (July 3), Boivin was 123rd overall, 39 minutes behind the leader and yellow jersey holder, Dutchman Dylan Groenewegen.

Tomorrow (July 5), the peloton will make its first turns in France for the fourth stage of the Tour. The 171.5km stage will run from Dunkirk to Calais in the north of the country.
