Guns N’ Roses tour is on

Don’t believe everything you read… the Guns N’ Roses tour is still on.

A surprising message was posted to Axl Rose’s Twitter page on Sunday evening (August 15). It claimed: "All upcoming Guns N’ Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds."

However, the message was a hoax. The Guns N’ Roses frontman and lead singer did not post this tweet. He has actually not added a new message to his Twitter page in three months.

Axl Rose is the only remaining member of the original Guns N’ Roses. His former bandmate, Slash, has moved on to a successful solo career and played this weekend in Malaysia.

Guns N’ Roses will play at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the UK on August 27 and 28. Live Nation’s Festival Republic is organizing the festivals and released a statement today (August 16): "Festival Republic are informed by GN’R management that Guns N’ Roses have NOT canceled their performances at Reading & Leeds and that Axl Rose’s twitter account was hacked into and all claims of dates being cancelled are unfounded."

The band also has a 24-show European tour planned, including a show on October 13 at O2 Arena in London.
