Variety reports that Guy Ritchie, Madonna’s husband, has signed on to direct the next Sherlock Holmes film.
Ritchie (Snatch) has already been working with Tony Peckham to fine-tune the script based on Lionel Wigram’s upcoming Sherlock Holmes comic book. Warner Bros. Studios expects the film to be released in 2010.
Although details on the production are being kept a mystery, it was revealed that the new film will be more physical, adventurous and cunning than previous takes on the famous detective and his right-hand man, Doctor John H. Watson.
Guy Ritchie is directing RocknRolla, which will be released on October 31 this year.
