Gwen has a back-up plan

Gwen Stefani says her design career will be there when she stops performing.

During an interview with InStyle magazine, singer Gwen Stefani revealed that her design career has always been part of her back-up plan. People reports she will move into this line of work full time once her music career draws to a close.

The 40-year old star launched the L.A.M.B. clothing label in 2003. She admitted that she needs to have a creative outlet in place once her music career is over.

Stefani says, "I wanted so badly to have a backup plan for when I’m not performing anymore. Let’s be realistic: It’s not going to be like this forever. So I wanted to continue having something creative to do."
She explains that fashion has always been a part of her life, "I made so many clothes growing up, and I used to do my own costumes…all I would do was just daydream about what I was going to make."

Stefani recently reunited with her former group, No Doubt. They got back together to make some new music. She revealed that their new album is influenced by artists who did not have a lot of success in the 80s.

She says, "The last few weeks we’ve been listening to the worst of the 80s, in the sense of bad but good."

Gwen Stefani manages to do it all. She has her singing career, her design work and she raises two small boys, Kingston and Zuma, with husband Gavin Rossdale.
