Gwen Stefani’s solo career over?

Singer says absence from No Doubt was just “a moment in time.”

It’s been ten years since No Doubt released their fifth and last album, 2001’s Rock Steady, with its steady stream of hits: Hey Baby, Hella Good, Underneath it All, and Running.

Lead singer Gwen Stefani took a break from No Doubt to launch her 2004 album Love. Angel. Music. Baby.; and The Sweet Escape in 2006.

As she plans to rejoin her No Doubt colleagues back in the studio, Stefani said her solo career is probably over.

“That was a moment in time,” the singer firmly stated in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “It went on a little longer than we all thought it would, because it was inspired and you have to go with wherever you’re at in that time in your life … [But] everything works out how it should.”

Currently, she has no plans to release new material without her band. In the passage of years, the band members have since had nine children between them, and are completing various individual projects before reuniting in the studio.

This Friday (June 10), the group will issue a statement announcing their future plans.
