Gwyneth Paltrow becomes Coach

Country Strong star is the new brand ambassador of American leather goods company.

In honor of the brand’s 70th anniversary, Coach president and creative director Reed Krakoff announced that Country Strong star Gwyneth Paltrow will be starring in its international advertising campaign this autumn, reports Vogue.

According to Krakoff, the elegant blonde was "a natural choice…She embodies the spirit, energy and elegance of the Coach brand." The star previously fronted campaigns for Tod’s and Dior.

The campaign will be shot by Peter Lindbergh in New York, to be featured in Coach’s 2011 fall and 2012 spring advertising campaigns in Asia and Europe.

Paltrow is a fan of the American design house, known for luxurious leather goods including handbags, wallets, and other accessories,

"I grew up in New York City and I’ve always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand," Paltrow, 38, told WWD. "I’ll never forget getting my first Coach bag."

Paltrow is married to Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin, and has two children Apple, 6, and Moses, 5. Her latest film, action-thriller Contagion, is just starting preproduction with director Steven Soderbergh. The film, due out October 21, will reunite her with The Talented Mr. Ripley co-stars Matt Damon and Jude Law, along with Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, and Laurence Fishbourne.
