According to the website Daily Express, Maria Riva is not thrilled that Paltrow will play her mother in an upcoming film. Riva claims that the actress is too thin.
Riva explained, "There wasn’t a star in Hollywood back in Marlene Dietrich’s era that was as thin as today’s. actresses."
Riva’s close friend, actress Grace Bradley Boyd, agrees, saying, "Marlene, Joan Crawford, Paulette Goddard – all of us were shapely."
