Gyllenhaal and Hathaway to Reunite

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway could be reuniting on the big screen.

After they starred together in Brokeback Mountain, Gyllenhaal and Hathaway could co-star on the silver screen once again, revealed The Hollywood Reporter.

The two actors are in negotiations to star in Love and Other Drugs, which first went by the title of Pharma.

Directed by Ed Zwick (Defiance) and written by Charles Randolph (The Interpreter), the film was adapted from the Jamie Reidy book called Hard Sell: The Evolution of the Viagra Salesman,  which is based on a true story.

Reidy was a pharmaceutical sales rep for Pfizer in the late 90s. He wrote down his memoirs to shed light on practises of the industry. Gyllenhaal would play a rep who forms a relationship with a woman with Parkinson’s disease (Hathaway). Their story is set to the backdrop of a political and social movement.

Gyllenhaal can next be seen in Brothers with Natalie Portman and Tobey Maguire on December 4. Meanwhile, Hathaway will star in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, opening in theatres on March 5, 2010.
