Halle Berry is praying for more children.
The ‘Cloud Atlas’ star – who has put her wedding plans with French actor Olivier Martinez on hold until her custody battle with Gabriel Aubry is resolved – has revealed she prays with her four-year-old daughter Nahla every night for another baby.
She told People.com: "We pray to God, so sweet. She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure. The other one, we’ve got to keep praying on.’ What do you say to her when she wants that and can’t understand why God’s taken so long?"
The 46-year-old actress also revealed she is glad she waited until her forties to become a mother.
She said: "I’m a much better mother at 46 – or 41, when I had her – than if I were like 21 or 25. I mean I was just a little baby just trying to figure it out – trying to figure out who I was, let alone having the responsibility of trying to help another little soul develop and grow. I’m so glad I waited."
Halle also hinted at the reasons she is eager to protect her daughter’s privacy and relocate to France with her against Gabriel’s wishes.
She said: "She’s just a little kid, and I just want her to be a little kid, and have normalcy and be like everybody else. As her mom, that’s my job — to provide her with that, you know? It’s frustrating when you feel like you can’t."
When she finally does settle down and wed Olivier, Halle Рwho has been divorced twice, from David Justice and Eric Ben̩t Рwants it to be an intimate affair.
She recently said: "I do know it will be very small. I haven’t been to many weddings, but I went to one this weekend with 250 guests. I thought, ‘Wow – so this is a wedding, huh?’ I’ve never had that, nor have I wanted that.
"I wasn’t even trying to catch the bouquet."
