Harrison Ford May Return to Jack Ryan Role

After returning to play Indiana Jones, actor Harrison Ford may be reprising another one of his previous characters, Jack Ryan.

Harrison Ford’s career seems to have jump-started following the success of the fourth Indiana Jones film.  The actor is now considering an opportunity to play Jack Ryan for the third time under the direction of Sam Raimi (Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3).

Ford played Jack Ryan, a CIA agent in the 1992 film Patriot Games and also in the film Clear and Present Danger in 1994.  Both films were based on novels by Tom Clancy.

Paramount Studios was considering actor Ryan Gosling (The Notebook) to play in the third installment of the film franchise, but after the success of the latest Indiana Jones film, Harrison Ford has caught the attention of studio heads.  Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull earned more than $100 million at American box offices on its opening weekend.

Harrison Ford can next be seen in the film Crossing Over with Sean Penn.  The film hits theatres on August 22.
