Project Runway host Heidi Klum was busy yesterday (January 27) promoting Astor cosmetics in her native Germany as part of her new role as brand ambassador, reports Coco Perez.
Rather than simply modelling the cosmetics, the professional supermodel took a more active role. Appearing at Hamburg’s Empire Riverside hotel, Klum demonstrated the cosmetics herself, by applying the make-up to a few willing volunteers.
"I’m thrilled to be part of the Astor family! Astor has such a long and strong heritage and continues to create innovative products with great colours and textures. I look forward to bringing my experiences in fashion and beauty to my new role," said Klum.
Astor has been creating cosmetics since 1952. According to the company website, Klum will also "be involved in the design of product collections inspired by the latest runway trends, and appear in print and television campaigns."
The supermodel has certainly been keeping busy. Earlier this week, it was announced that she had teamed up with Coty Inc. in order to create her own fragrance, Heidi Klum Shine, due out in fall 2011.
Klum, 37, is already at the helm of a small fashion empire. Along with both hosting and producing Project Runway, the German-born Klum is also a model, actress, fashion designer, singer and businesswoman.
