Actress Helen Mirren (The Queen) has signed on to star in the film The Debt, directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love).
She will be playing an Israeli secret service agent. The Debt, which is a remake of the Israeli film Ha-hov, follows three Mossad agents who have been trying to track down a Nazi war criminal for 30 years.
Filming is set to begin next year in the United Kingdom, Germany and Israel.
Mirren will next appear in Inkheart, a family adventure flick with Brendan Fraser and Andy Serkis, which will hit the screens on January 9, 2009.
