Hilary Duff will appear in a publicity campaign that encourages teens to be more respectful toward gays and lesbians.
The singer has partnered with America’s Gay Lesbian & Straight Education Network for the new awareness campaign.
In the publicity available on the Web, Duff is seen addressing two teen girls who are trying on clothes.
When one of the girls describes a dress as being too gay, the singer advises them not to use this term to describe something that is bad, because it’s insulting.
"Nobody says it meaning to hurt someone’s feelings but it can really make an impact on someone," the actress says.
