Hilary Swank Shows French Interest

Hilary Swank will adapt the book French Women Don’t Get Fat for the big screen.

According to Variety, Hilary Swank and production partner Molly Smith, have acquired the rights to the best seller, French Women Don’t Get Fat, by Mireille Guiliano, which will be adapted for film.

Swank will also play a role in the movie, which is expected to fall in the romantic comedy category, recounting the life of the former female president of a champagne house who has to face the harsh realities of life. Heather Hach (Freaky Friday) will write the script.

Published in 2004, French Women Don’t Get Fat became a huge success in bookstores, unveiling certain secrets that French women keep to stay thin, despite their high-calorie diets, wine and pastries.

Hilary Swank is currently wrapping up the shoot of the biographical drama Amelia, about the historical female aviator, Amelia Earhart.
