Historical golf course in Old Quebec

A 9-hole golf course will take visitors through the history of Old Quebec.

Designer Michel Nadeau got the idea after experiencing the concept of a historic golf course in Switzerland. He decided to adapt the idea to the historic area of Quebec to allow tourists to experience the city and its rich history through a 9-hole golf course. Tourists can visit some of the historic sites that make up Quebec City, the oldest city in North America.

From June 15 until September 15, visitors can embark on a two-hour adventure any time between 10 am and 5 pm, rain or shine.

The journey will take them on a trail inside the fortifications of Quebec City, starting at Parc-de-l’Artillerie at Porte Kent, passing by Redoute du bourreau,  Tenaille des Nouvelles Casernes,  Séminaire de Québec, Église St-Andrew, Cathédrale Holy Trinity, parc du Cavalier-du-Moulin, Remparts de la Citadelle and Poudrière.

Of course, to avoid accidents, the golf equipment will be provided and tailored for this kind of urban route. It costs $15 per adult for a green fee, $13.50 for people aged 65 and over, $13.50 for youth 8-17 years. Children under 8 can play free when accompanied by an adult.

To give players a bit of the city’s history, the score card will contain historical information about each of the places visited on the journey.
