Hotel George V is a Parisian palace

Ninth French hotel to receive ultra-luxe ‘palace’ rating.

The Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris in France has been awarded the official title of ‘palace’, making it the ninth French establishment to earn the honor, the company announced in a statement yesterday (September 13).

The George V, located on the Champs-Elysées, joins a select list of hotels that have been deemed palaces, including the Hotel le Bristol, the Le Meurice Hotel, The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme and The Hotel Plaza-Athénée, all in Paris.

The four remaining properties are located outside of the capital: the Hotel de Charme Les Airelles and the Cheval Blanc in Courchevel, the Hotel du Palais in Biarritz, and the Grand-hotel du Cap-Ferrat, in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.

The George V offers 186 guest rooms and 59 suites in a historic art deco eight-story building. Along with Classical French furnishings, 17th-century Flemish tapestries and 18th-century Florentine chandeliers, the hotel is also decorated with 9,000 flowers delivered fresh each week directly from the Netherlands.
