Last month, Bridget Jones actor Hugh Grant became a father for the first time, his representative confirmed to People.
“I can confirm that Hugh Grant is the delighted father of a baby girl," the rep said in a statement.
“He and the mother had a fleeting affair and while this was not planned, Hugh could not be happier or more supportive. He and the mother have discussed everything and are on very friendly terms."
The identity of the mother was not disclosed, nor the name of the child. There were no details on the birth either.
The 51-year-old bachelor had a 13-year romance with Elizabeth Hurley, and then dated Jemima Khan for three years. More recently, Grant was linked to Chinese actress Tinglan Hong, whom he dated in January.
In 2009, Grant, who had never married, said he “hadn’t given up hope” of becoming a parent, and added, with his trademark irony, that he “finds I’m not as bad with children as I used to be.”
