According to People, Jackman is very protective of his former co-star, and asserts that Ryan Reynolds is good for the actress.
Jackman, who played opposite Reynolds in X-Men, stated, "Ryan Reynolds is one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met. And umm, we had a really good chat about his girlfriend, because I’m very fond of Scarlett, and both my wife [Deborra-Lee Furness] and I are very [proprietary] about Scarlett, [and] he got a big thumbs up from me."
When asked if he was giving this relationship his blessing, Jackman added, "I’m giving my blessing, exactly. He’s phenomenal."
