Jackman pulled out of the Steven Sodenbergh film during the negotiations because of a schedule conflict.
Cleo will star Catherine Zeta-Jones in the role of Cleopatra. Jackman was supposed to play her lover Marc Antony. There are talks that Ray Winstone (Beowulf) will play Julius Caesar.
Jackman will be starring in X-Men Origins: Wolverine which opens in theatres on May 1.
