Ian Curtis Tombstone Stolen

A thief has stolen the tombstone of the late singer, Ian Curtis.

The tombstone belonging to the deceased singer from the band Joy Division, has been taken from Macclesfield Cemetery in England, reports RollingStone.

Detectives discovered that the stone was stolen sometime between Tuesday night (July 1) and Wednesday morning (July 2). A spokesperson for the police explained that there was no trail of evidence leading to the crime.

The tombstone was engraved, "Ian Curtis 18-5-80" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart", which was the title of Joy Division’s biggest success.

Curtis took his own life in May 1980.
