Il Divo 2012 world tour coming to North America

Classical crossover quartet announce U.S. and Canadian concert dates.

The classical crossover quartet, ll Divo, has announced initial United States and Canadian concert dates for the group’s massive 2012 world tour, slated to cross six continents in the upcoming year.

The group’s fourth world tour follows the release of their fifth and latest album, Wicked Game, featuring the signature vocal blend and unique operatic arrangements that launched the classical-crossover sensation.

Released November 8, Wicked Game includes the title track (a dramatic reworking of the Chris Isaak classic), an emotional rendering of Roy Orbison’s Crying, a song inspired by Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings called Dove L’Amore, and a new version of Time To Say Goodbye.

The tour will see the quartet – Carlos Marin, Sebastien Izambard, David Miller and Urs Buhler – perform across Europe, UK, Australia, South Africa, Japan and Asia in advance of their stateside shows.

Recently named Artist of the Decade at the Classic BRITS, Il Divo has sold more than 25 million albums and pioneered the classical crossover genre.

"Il Divo is the perfect modern fusion of opera, theatre and concert performance," said tour creative director Brian Burke.

The North American leg of the Il Divo tour will open in May with a series of Canadian dates before bringing the group to the US for their most extensive stateside run to date.
