Is black rice the new superfood?

Experts say  black rice is worth eating up.

Black rice has been revered in China for centuries, but is still unknown in the West. Scientists are now declaring it as the most potent food in the prevention of  cancer and heart disease.
 

Black rice is low in sugar but rich in heart-healthy fiber, and is composed of elements that fight cancer and heart disease. Moreover, according to the team of researchers from the State University of Louisiana, black rice is extremely rich in anthocyanins  which is what causes it to be dark in rice. These antioxidants,may help protect arteries and prevent damage to DNA by cancer.
 
A single tablespoon of black rice is more beneficial than blueberries, because it contains less sugar and more fiber and vitamin E. British newspaper the Daily Mail. reports that black rice may well be the new superfood.
