According to the latest rumours published online on WWD, luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton called on U2 lead singer Bono to be its newest ambassador.

The fashion house is so far refusing to confirm or deny the news making its way around the web.

Louis Vuitton always tries to bring new and original faces on board for each of its new ad campaigns.

Its last campaign reunited soccer stars Pelé, Zinedine Zidane and Diego Maradona at the Maravillas café in Madrid. The campaign featured the three legends playing a friendly game of foosball. That campaign was put together just weeks before the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup being hosted this year by South Africa.

Bono already has a connection to Louis Vuitton. His eco-friendly ready-to-wear brand Edun is partly owned by Vuitton parent company LVMH. The company was founded by the singer and his wife, Ali Hewson, in 2005.
