Is Brad the New Bigtime Bad Guy?

Guy Ritchie thinks Brad Pitt would make a super supervillain.

OrangeNews announced that Pitt is being considered for an appearance in the sequel to the Sherlock Holmes film. Director Guy Ritchie hopes to have the actor on board for a more serious collaborative effort.

The director worked with Pitt in 2000 on the movie Snatch, and believes the actor would be perfect in the role of Professor James Moriarty, the arch enemy of Scotland Yard’s most famous super sleuth, Sherlock Holmes.

One source explained, "The director, Guy Ritchie, loves Brad. He has worked with him before and thinks he is one of the most underrated actors working today. Guy knows that everyone thinks of as a Pitt as a pretty boy and can’t wait to turn him into the world’s greatest supervillain. It will definitely make the sequel a must-see."

It is still unknown when the sequel will be developed, but actors Robert Downey Jr., who stars as Holmes, and Jude Law, who plays the trusted Watson, are already signed on for the roles.

In the meantime, for 2010, fans can catch Brad Pitt in the movie The Tree of Life with Sean Penn; exact release date unconfirmed. Beginning November 5, 2010, the actor will lend his voice for the animated feature Megamind.
