According to Empire magazine, Lucas has officially announced that he will now be concentrating on television projects.  In 2006, the Star Wars creator decided that it is too risky to make films.  The production and promotion of blockbuster films has become too costly.

Lucas, 62, has decided to align the activities of his company, Lucasfilm, with lower budget projects.  The director believes that already internet downloading is becoming a problem in the film industry.

The filmmaker explained, "We don’t want to make movies, we’re getting into television. The feature film thing is too expensive and it’s too risky. For that same $200 million I can make 50 to 60 two-hour movies. I think that’s going to be a huge revolution in the medium."

The cinematic career of George Lucas isn’t finished yet.  At the moment, the director is working on the film Red Tails, which tells the story of the first black soldiers in America.  He will also film the fourth Indiana Jones movie.
