"…the studio wants to get someone relatively known, and can do comedy and drama. One guy brought up the idea of Steve Carell, star of ‘The Office’ and the upcoming film ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin.’ and the studio is starting to like the idea", said a source.
Carell is not the only person being considered however. Lachy Hulme, Paul Bettany (Wimbledon) and Sean Penn are also possibilities.
The current Batman film, Batman Begins, starring Christain Bale, Cillian Murphy, Gary Oldman, Katie Holmes, Ken Watanabe, Liam Neeson, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Tom Wilkinson, is playing in theatres now.
