After playing a superhero in the film Hancock, Will Smith may soon be wearing the Captain America costume.
At the moment, the role has not yet been confirmed. Actor Derek Luke (Spartan, Catch a Fire) talked about the possibility of the role during an interview.
Captain America, which is expected to be released on May 6, 2011, will be set during World War II and focus on the early days of the hero.
Smith has also confirmed a few other projects, including The Last Pharaoh and The Trial of the Chicago 7, also starring Kevin Spacey, for next year.
In the meantime, we can next see Smith in the film Seven Pounds on December 19.
