Israel’s Walk About Love this spring

Unique walking tour of Israeli landscape takes place this spring.

Inspired by the Australian native "walkabout,” Israel’s Walk About Love, scheduled from March 16 to June 23, is billed as “a personal walking journey or walking meditation” in which participants are encouraged to gain inspiration from their environment and fellow walkers.

Starting with a 2-day musical parade across the city of Eilat to the Egyptian border, guides will lead walkers through the lunar-like landscape to Ramon Crater and through the Judean Desert to Jerusalem.

Hikers are encouraged to become acquainted with locals at campsites set up along the route. The second leg of the journey travels from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, along the Mediterranean coast to the Sea of Galilee and Jordan Valley to Mt. Hermon. The festival will also include a three-week camp out near the Dead Sea.

At a cost of $8.50 to $17 per day for food and shelter, organizers will also transfer your luggage from one camp to another for you.
