Issey Miyake’s new designer shades

Japanese fashion house unveils eyewear collection just in time for summer.

Japanese fashion house Issey Miyake is launching a new line of eyewear featuring a wide range of styles for both sunglasses and optical frames, reports Vogue.

The new line of eyewear for men and women debuted earlier this month on Miyake’s runway at Paris Fashion Week, and will be available as part of the spring-summer 2011 collection.

Constructed of stainless steel and acetate, the collection spans three master styles, each of which features different lens shapes and arm designs, for a total of thirty different fashionable combinations.

Each style is also available in a range of colors, including gray, black, blue, silver and plum. The designs are based on Miyake’s ‘Stream’ concept, reports Mail Movement.

"The ‘stream’ is the flow of thoughts, fueled by the visual perception we have of the world, by the memory, and the energy that surrounds us,” said a statement from the design house. “This flow nourishes our lives, influences our decisions, determines our actions and feeds our imagination."

The Miyake design studio has partnered with French company Ça Va Se Voir, which will be responsible for manufacturing and worldwide distribution.
