It’s Jail Time for Rapper T.I.

T.I. received a sentence of one year and one day for having purchased illegal firearms.

Rapper T.I. was sentenced to a year and a day in jail today (March 27). He could, however, be freed before finishing his time if he cooperates.

In 2007, he was arrested for having purchased illegal firearms. Pleading guilty to the charges, he signed a contract with authorities to receive a reduced sentence.

T.I. appeared in court at 9:30 this morning in front of Judge Charles Pannell Jr. His manager, family and wife, Tameka Cottle, were also present in the courtroom.

The 28-year-old rapper will have to report to prison in 30-60 days from now to serve his time.

He already contributed 1,000 hours of community service and will do 470 more after he is released from jail. He also paid a fine of $100,000 US.
