J Lo, Gucci, and Fiat, oh my!

People’s most beautiful person of 2011 breathes some life into car ads.

Having recently promoted the Fiat automobile in her video Papi and during her live performance of the song at the recent American Music Awards where she won ‘Latin Artist of the Year,’ actress and singer Jennifer Lopez now stars in the latest campaign featuring an all-new 2012 Fiat 500 by Gucci.

Set to Lopez’s song Until It Beats No More, from her recent album, Love?, the commercial is titled Elegance, with a voice-over by Lopez highlighting the style, elegance and originality of Fiat 500 by Gucci limited edition, as she drives through the streets of New York City.

“… Fiat has again turned to Jennifer Lopez, this time to help catapult the iconic vehicle into the fashion world,” said Olivier Francois at the Chrysler Group. “Lopez perfectly embodies the spirit of the Fiat 500 by Gucci, as she is living proof that effortless elegance can only be achieved through hard work.”

The new commercial highlights the stylish limited edition vehicle, from the flash of the Gucci logo on the rear bumper, to the red-green-red Gucci web stripe across the power-retractable cloth top, to the interlocking “GG” on the shift knob.

The ad concludes with Lopez exiting her compact vehicle in a flowing evening gown and sky-high stilettoes, looking like she’s headed for a five-star restaurant. The recently-separated pop singer was named People magazine’s 2011 most ‘beautiful person.’
