Hollywood is a big fan of the Muppets and so many actors want a part in their upcoming film, that the biggest problem is aligning everyone’s schedules, says the Hollywood Reporter.Along with Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Rashida Jones and Zach Galifianakis, it was announced that Jack Black, Alan Arkin, Billy Crystal and Jean Claude Van Damme will have cameo appearances.
Jason Segel co-wrote the script with Nicholas Stoller, in which the Muppets must reunite to save Muppet Studios in Hollywood from an evil Texas oil tycoon. Director James Bobin, co-creator of the HBO series Flight of the Conchords, is expected to bring a musical sensibility to the project.
Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles with a planned release date of December 25, 2011.
Jack Black’s latest film, Gulliver’s Travels, is due in theatres December 22, and co-stars Jason Segel, Emily Blunt and Amanda Peet.
