Jack Johnson gives it all away

Jack Johnson will donate all money made from his upcoming North American tour to charity.

Singer and author Jack Johnson will not keep a penny of the money he makes from his North American tour this summer. Starpulse reports he is donating all the money to his favourite charities.

Johnson announced a 34-concert tour between July and October in order to promote his new album, To The Sea.

The singer will give all profits to environmental causes particularly close to his heart.

Johnson records his albums in studios that run on solar power in Hawaii and Los Angeles. He also revealed that his tour will respect the environment and make every effort to be 100% carbon neutral. Tour buses, coaches and generators will use biodiesel and all tour merchandise will be eco-friendly.

Jack Johnson also encourages venues where he performs to reduce waste, recycle, use water refill stations and offset carbon emissions.

Johnson’s North American tour begins July 9 in Connecticut.

He is in the middle of an Australian concert right now and will play at some European summer festivals before returning to the United States.
