The Hollywood Reporter has learned that actor Jackie Chan is going to accept the lead role in the film, The Spy Next Door.
He will be playing a man who gets asked to babysit his neighbour’s children, but then winds up having to fight off secret agents after one of the kids accidentally downloads a secret code.
The Spy Next Door will be directed by Brian Levant (Beethoven, The Flintstones, Snow Dogs) and produced by Robert Simonds (The Pink Panther).
The screenplay was written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer who brought us Just My Luck.
After providing his voice to the Monkey in Kung Fu Panda that came out in June, Jackie Chan will also appear in the film The Shinjuki Incident (Xin Su Shi Jian), which hits the big screen in September.
