Jake Bugg blasts Britney’s entourage

Jake Bugg has blasted Britney Spears’ entourage.

The ‘Two Fingers’ singer was shocked by the way people treated the pop star when she recently appeared on the same television programme as him in the UK.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: ”Britney was nice and said hello to me, but those stars have such a massive number of people it’s daft.

”Staff on the show were saying to her entourage, ‘I’m just going to stick a bit of tape on this microphone, is that OK?’ when I was setting up. I was going: ‘Just f***ing stick it on there.’

”They should let people be who they want to be, not turn them into some superstar.”

Jake is nominated for the Barclay Card Mercury Prize tonight (30.10.13), but says he’s not interested if he wins or not.

He explained: ”I’m not that bothered. I’m not in music to get involved with prizes. I don’t see it as a competition. I feel the same about chart positions. I care more about making the best records I can.”

The indie star also says people from his hometown of Nottingham in England’s Midlands have a skewed idea of what being in the music industry is like.

He added: ”Everyone wanted to talk to me about money, going: ‘You must own loads of limos now.’ The music industry isn’t like that any more.”
