Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel confirmed they would take the parts in this political satire by David O. Russell, who also co-wrote the screenplay. Al Gore’s daughter, Kristin, also has a part in the movie.
Biel will play Sammy Joyce, a clumsy receptionist, who is the victim of an accident, that wakes up her sexual side. While in Washington where she tries to get money for the damages, Sammy meets an immoral politician, played by Gyllenhaal, who takes advantage of Sammy.
Red Wagon Entertainment (Jarhead) and Persistent Entertainment (Southland Tales), will be financing the movie. Filming will begin in January. The director, David O. Russell is familiar with political films after directing Thee Kings and Sammy’s Hill.
