Franco says that he was very uncomfortable while filming a nude scene in a pool for the biopic about politician Harvey Milk. He added that being nude while everyone else on the set was fully clothed added to the problem, reports Starpulse.com.
Franco, who plays Scott Smith, Milk’s homosexual companion, was able to get through the scene by constantly reminding himself that he was working with his favourite director, Gus Van Sant.
The actor explained, "There’s just something uncomfortable about that (being naked on set). I felt like the girl in those teen movies that pops out of the hot tub topless. I was like, ‘All right, it’s Gus Van Sant, I’ll do whatever.’ I was just happy to be there."
