Franco accepted a role in the independent drama, In Praise of Shadows, according to Variety.
The film was written and will be directed by Jay Anania, who is the head director of the film school at New York University. Franco has just completed his first year in the program, while completing his master’s degree in English at the University of Columbia.
In Praise of Shadows tells the story of William Vincent (Franco) and his eccentric and strange journey that led him to New York after four years of exile to save the woman he loves from a conspiracy. Filming will begin on June 15 in New York.
Franco has finished filming two movies, Howl, which will hit theatres next year and Date Night, to be released on April 9, 2010.
