James Van Der Beek says fatherhood has completely changed his outlook on life.
The 36-year-old ‘Labor Day’ actor, who has two children, Olivia, three, and Joshua, 18 months, with his pregnant wife, Kimberly, credits his growing family for inspiring him to take on bigger challenges.
The former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star told People.com: ”I think fatherhood changes you from the inside out. It’s not this thing where you think, ‘Oh, I have to be responsible, I have to take more on.’ You just want to, almost automatically.”
James claims he can’t imagine being a bachelor these days as he barely knows how to fill his time when he’s alone in Los Angeles.
He said: ”The other day, I had a morning to myself in the house and I didn’t know what to do with myself. I had about 45 minutes before I had to go to work and there was nobody in the house. I had no idea what to do!”
He added: ”I did the dishes! I know. I didn’t know what to do with myself.”
