James Woods Gets a Little Justice

James Woods has finally settled with the hospital he sued for his brother’s death.

The actor reached a settlement regarding the lawsuit he filed against Kent Hospital in Rhode Island, where his younger brother, Michael, died in 2006.  Woods sued for malpractice following his brother’s heart attack at the age of 49.

Woods, who has been managing his brother’s estate, filed suit against the hospital in November, claiming that doctors did not do everything in their power to save his brother.

The judge dismissed the case on Tuesday (December 1), when hospital officials admitted to making errors upon treating Michael.

They also promised to open an institute in the late man’s name and to pay $1.25 million to reduce medical errors and improve the hospital’s health services.

James Woods was found in tears when he addressed the media about the court’s ruling. He was relieved that something positive emerged from his brother’s death, reports FemaleFirst.

"It was all I ever needed to see, one human being saying to another human being ‘I’m sorry for your loss.’ It makes it possible for me to go to my brother’s grave and ask if I’ve done the right thing," stated the actor.
