Janet Jackson Can’t Watch This Is It

Janet Jackson says she can’t watch the film This Is It because she’s not ready.

The film, which shows her late brother Michael rehearsing for a concert series, would simply be too painful for Janet right now.

The King of Pop was preparing to entertain fans at several shows in London, but died before the shows could begin.  The video footage of his rehearsals has been released as a film, which brought in more than $200 million in just two weeks.

Members of the Jackson family, including Michael’s father, Joe, and his brothers Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon, all attended the film’s Los Angeles premiere last month.  However, Janet refused to see the film, and admits that even seeing promotional posters for the flick can be upsetting to her.

During an interview with ABC News, Janet said, "I have not seen it. I definitely won’t, not right now. I don’t know if I’d ever see it. (It’s) too soon, too hard. It’s hard when I see the posters around the city, the commercials, the trailers (on TV). It has (caught me off guard emotionally)."

This Is It was directed by Kenny Ortega, the late singer’s choreographer and artistic supervisor.  Michael Jackson was scheduled to perform at London’s O2 Arena last July.
