Janet Jackson Inspires New Words in the Fashion Industry

Janet Jackson’s wardrobe mishap during Super Bowl 2004 has inspired new forms of expression in the fashion world.

The fashion industry has not ceased to expand and evolve, and so has the terminology in the world of style.

According to a report from Vogue.co.uk, the Chambers Dictionary will be adding new terms to their latest addition, such as "fashion forward", "nail bars", "credit crunch" and "wardrobe malfunction", making reference to Janet Jackson and the incident that occurred during the Super Bowl 2004 half time show.

Editor-In-Chief, Mary O’Neill, explained, "The new words we added to this 11th edition of The Chambers Dictionary paint a vivid picture of current interests and concerns."
