Jason Mewes wants to direct a horror movie

Jason Mewes has admitted he wants to make the move from acting to directing and wants to take control of a horror movie for his debut behind the camera.

Jason Mewes is planning to direct a horror film.

The ‘Jay and Silent Bob’ star – who is currently preparing for his and his co-star Kevin Smith’s ‘Hollywood Babble-On’ tour – has admitted he would like to try his hand at directing and plans to make his debut in the horror genre.

Quizzed on what his plans were for the future, he told the Metro newspaper: ”I’m spinning a bunch of plates, as Kevin says. I might direct a horror movie. I directed a short, which turned out awesome.

”I’m big into horror, big into sci-fi. But I’m not a big fan of romantic comedies.”

The 39-year-old actor – who admits he’s been sober for ”exactly 1,385 days” after struggling with a heroin addiction in the past – was set to star in Smith’s version of ‘The Green Hornet’ before the idea was scrapped but he’s confessed he’s a big fan Seth Rogen’s portrayal of the superhero.

When asked whether he’d seen the film, Mewes said: ”I did. I enjoyed it. Comic book movies are getting better and better. When they started attempting to film them they didn’t have the technology. They’d be pretty bad.”

Mewes also spoke about working with Smith and Rogen on ‘Zack and Miri Make a Porno’, and confessed he was shocked they asked him to be filmed completely naked.

He said: ”When I read the script I just assumed there would be a vase or a watermelon covering me. I was like, ‘Oh my god, my family are going to see my junk.’ ”
